I just have to write a post in Swedish, this quote from Marcus Birro, #1 football blogger in Sweden, is to good not to publish. You can’t write more passionate about football than this guy does.

I have a cold and am pretty tired, and obviously also pretty sensitive. I was close to tears when Zlatan shot his cannonball in Champions League tonight. You get so proud, what a guy he is! They say that girls like sensitive guys, I wonder if the reason to my sensitiveness is valid?

I read on Swedish football-site fotbollskanalen that Samuel Eto’o in Barcelona doesn’t want to bring his children to football anymore because of all racist chants on the stands.

I have thought about this thing for a while and wonder when someone, both Uefa and the national federations, will take the fight against this? Eto’o was, as you might be aware of, on his way to leave the pitch during a match last season against Real Zaragoza, after he had had to listen to monkey-sounds from the Zaragoza “fans” all the match through, but his team mates were able to convince him to finish the match.

I almost wish he had left the pitch that time. I think that’s exactly what is needed to get media, the public and the magnates at Uefa to realize that this doesn’t work anymore. It’s time to act, and it’s time to act now, but maybe we need a Rosa Parks of football that takes the first step, with a substitutes’ bench instead of a bus seat.
